Is your child ready for kindergarten?

Communication is at the heart of learning.
(Speech-Language & Audiology Canada)
Speech and language skills are essential to academic success and learning…Learning takes place through the process of communication.
(American Speech-Language-Hearing Association)
Strong oral language skills help children:
  • understand what the teacher is saying
  • participate in classroom and small group activities
  • make connections with other children
  • become good readers and writers

The 8 session “School Readiness Program” focuses on oral language skills your child requires to thrive in kindergarten. These skills include:
  • following directions involving concepts like “some”, “none” and “all”
  • understanding “wh” questions such as what, where, who, when and why
  • sequencing and storytelling skills
  • social language skills such as starting and ending conversations appropriately
  • pre-reading skills like identifying syllables and beginning sounds in words

Please contact me to discuss the benefits of this program for your child.
